Ashnola at The Crossing
Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) has been the contracted agency providing the youth and young adult residential substance use treatment program at Ashnola at The Crossing. The contract expires on March 31, 2021 and Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) has advised us that they must put the contract out to tender. PCRS has reviewed the Request For Proposals posted by PHSA and despite operating this critical program for the past four years with excellent outcomes, there is new criteria that excludes PCRS from consideration. We also believe that the program/staffing model and associated funding levels, and other contractual obligations outlined in the RFP are insufficient to establish and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for participants which is not in alignment with our agency values. As a result and with a heavy heart, PCRS will not be submitting a response to the RFP. We look forward to a smooth transition and rapid re-opening of a program that will continue to offer this important service to youth and young adults in BC.
