Baristas Program
Surrey & Vancouver
Baristas is a six-week employment program for youth 16-30 years old. The program focuses helping participants find work in the customer service and food industry. The program provides workshops on life and employability skills such as Time Management and Organization, Effective Communication/Conflict Resolution, Financial Literacy, Resumes, Cover Letters, Interview Skills, Skills/Values Assessments, Coping with Stress and Anxiety, Employment Standards/Workplace Safety, Networking, Job Search and Job Maintenance. Participants achieve certificates in Foodsafe, Serving It Right, and SuperHost. Program facilitators assist participants with job search so they can meet their employment and career goals.

Eligibility
16 – 30 years old
Permanent Resident, Canadian Citizen or Refugee
All applicants must have government issued ID, Social Insurance Number (legally entitled to work in Canada), and a bank account
Resident of Metro Vancouver
Unemployed or precariously employed 25 hours or less per week
Have not participated in another program funded by Access BladeRunners
Able to attend each class in-person
There is a training allowance available
