Extreme Weather Shelter (EWR)
Surrey
To provide a safe dry space during cold and extreme weather alerts for youth.
The shelter runs from November until March and opens when an extreme weather alert is issued for the city of Surrey. The EWR will have 10 mats set up for youth aged 13-24 years old when conditions are deemed severe enough to present a substantial threat to the life and/or health of people experiencing homelessness. When activated, youth are able to access food, water, coffee, shower and laundry facilities on-site from 7:00pm until 7:00am.
