A two-year transitional housing program for youth at risk of homelessness aged 19-24.
Vancouver Shared Independent Living Program is a two-year transitional housing program providing beds for youth aged 19-24 years needing a safe place while they work on goals to transition to independent living. The program offers a private room with shared spaces such as kitchen, living rooms and laundry. Participants are assigned a youth housing worker who will assist them with life skills, employment, education, and transition planning.

Entrance Requirements
This program is for those who are aged 19-24.
Participants must be going to school, work, or a day program
Participants can self-refer or be referred by professionals or other community agencies.
Vancouver-based MCFD and VACFSS social workers may also directly refer to our housing program and are encouraged to contact the housing manager for more information on how direct referrals are made.

No, our program uses a program agreement model rather than a tenancy relationship. Involvement in program activities such as meeting with a housing worker, creating life skills goals, and following program guidelines is required in order to live at our housing sites.
