FAQs – Prevention & Health Promotion
Prevention facilitators will come along side participants, caregivers, and community service providers to assess needs and create an individual plan which may include resiliency and skill building, education, and relational support. We provide these supports through one to one connection, groups and workshops.
Educational workshops are provided for youth, caregivers and community service providers on a variety of topics associated with health promotion including but not limited to, substance use, mental health, healthy relationships, and social media. Workshops can also be customized to meet the needs of the community request. Workshops are interactive and are generally an hour in length.
P&HP staff can work with youth for as long as they require support as determined by the staff, participant, and referral source, or until they are over the age of 19 and are referred to adult services.
P&HP staff work with youth at all stages of the continuum including non-use and those who are affected by another person’s use. It is not a requirement for youth to be using substances to receive support.
