Build Your Future
Surrey
Build Your Future is a four-week employment program for youth aged 16–30. The program prepares participants for fulltime employment as trades helpers or labourers.
Participants engage in interactive workshops focused on time management, communication and conflict resolution, financial literacy, and employment standards. These activity-based sessions are designed to strengthen teamwork and communication skills while helping participants gain valuable insight into workplace expectations. The workshops provide a supportive environment where individuals can establish routines and practice essential life skills needed for successful and sustainable employment.
The program concludes with a certification week, during which participants obtain the following safety and awareness certifications: Confined Spaces, WHMIS, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Back Talk, Emergency First Aid, Heat Stress, and WCB Young Workers.
Following program completion, participants receive job search support with the goal of securing employment within three months.
