We are happy to announce that our proposal for a Wellness Centre in Chilliwack was approved by Chilliwack City Council. This program has received one-time funding through UBCM’s Strengthening Communities Program, Reaching Home, Fraser Health, and BC Housing.
The Wellness Centre will be located at 45951 Trethewey, Chilliwack. We are taking possession of the temporary space on December 1st.
The Wellness Centre will provide a warm, trauma informed and culturally safe space with for people experiencing homelessness this winter season. The centre will be open from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm 7 days a week with staff present for counselling, harm reduction, social support, and connections to other professionals as needed. With no other day shelter in Chilliwack, this centre will be a refuge from extreme weather and to seek services. Fellow professional services will be partnered with to work in the centre involving Health services, Income Assistance, Pharmacy, counselling and much more.
