PCRS is deeply devastated to learn that remains of 215 Indigenous children were found on the grounds of the Kamloops Indian Residential School. Once again this news forces us to acknowledge the painful impact and legacy of the Indian Residential School system and its part in our country’s shameful treatment of Indigenous peoples.
Our hearts go out to the Tk’emlups Secwépemc First Nation and all of the Indigenous communities of the children impacted by this tragic discovery. We stand with them in calling for full investigation, accountability and reparation for these unconscionable crimes.
Here at PCRS, we are embarking on a campaign to encourage donations from our staff and board (to be matched by PCRS) for the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (Donate — Indian Residential School Survivors Society (irsss.ca)), a provincial organization that provides wellness and healing services and supports to survivors of Indian residential schools and their families and communities.

We continue to be committed to Reconciliation here at PCRS, even if it is one small step at a time.
