Help Us Open the Doors of Foundry Surrey for Youth & Families

This fall, a long-awaited dream is becoming reality in Surrey: the opening of Foundry Surrey, a centre for young people ages 12 to 24 and their families. Located at 10280 City Parkway, across from Surrey Central Skytrain Station, Foundry Surrey will be a safe space where youth can access free and confidential mental health support, physical and sexual health care, substance use services, peer support, and social services, all in one convenient location.

But there’s one crucial step left before the doors can open: we need your support.

For the past five years, Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) has worked alongside the community to bring Foundry to Surrey.  As part of its provincial strategy to improve mental health and addictions care for young people, the Government of British Columbia provides one-time start-up funding to establish Foundry centres, and ongoing core funding for service delivery and grants to support specific program areas. Generous supporters, including local youth and families, businesses, foundations, and community partners, have contributed funding, in-kind services, and valuable time to make this vision possible.

Now, Foundry Surrey is in the final stretch of its fundraising campaign. With your help, we can cover the last essential costs of renovations and furnishings so that young people and families can finally access a warm, welcoming centre designed to meet their needs.

The need has never been greater. Across Canada, one in five youth under 25 experiences a mental health challenge. Here in Surrey, youth and families have expressed the need for low-barrier, integrated services that are easy to access and stigma-free.

Foundry Surrey will transform youth mental health and wellness by offering both drop-in and appointment-based services within a centre that is culturally, transit and physically accessible, designed in collaboration with local youth and families.

Your donation isn’t just funding a building—it’s creating hope. It ensures that when a young person is struggling, or when a family doesn’t know where to turn, there will be a door open to them.

“Being a part of the development of Foundry Surrey has been a journey that I am truly grateful to share. From finding the site to designing and now building, this has been a collaborative project led by the voices of Surrey youth, families, and service providers. Together, we’ve created a centre that is safe, welcoming, and inclusive. What we need now is community support, through donations, to help us finish the final stage and open the doors to youth and families who are counting on us.” – Jen Lowrey, Director of Surrey Substance Use and Mental Health Services, PCRS

With your support, we can fund:

– 7 examination rooms(including a family medical room) to be used by physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff to support youth and families

– 17+ counselling spaces and 8 group rooms, designed with diverse layouts and colours to ensure comfort for youth and families

– A cultural room, Indigenous space, and sensory room to provide culturally  and neurodiverse appropriate services

– A demonstration kitchen  for youth to learn life-skills and build connections with others

Youth peer support and family peer support rooms where youth and families can connect with others with similar lived experiences and learn about resources available

And much, much more.

Across B.C., Foundry centres are transforming communities. Youth report feeling more supported, families find relief, and wellness is improved. With your help, Surrey’s young people will soon have access to the same care, connection, and hope.

Now is the time to act. Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to opening our doors and welcoming local youth and families into a space built just for them.
