In the 1990s, Nisha became a strong advocate for sector change, launching new initiatives such as the Broadway Youth Resource Centre and Surrey Community Outreach Program for Employment. By 2002, Nisha had rebranded to Pacific Community Resource Society (PCRS), signaling a deeper connection with local communities while maintaining its core values.
The 2000s marked further growth, with the opening of multiple youth resource centers and expansion into substance use services, employment support, and community outreach. PCRS also pioneered the first youth-focused prevention program along the Skytrain lines.
By 2014, PCRS had grown into a large and influential organization, opening new programs like Kwayatsut housing for at-risk youth and Pathways to Education. PCRS continued to expand its reach, acquiring properties, and launching new treatment centers in Keremeos and Chilliwack, offering crucial support to youth facing substance use issues.
PCRS’s growth continued through 2024 with the opening of new housing projects, wellness centers for those experiencing homelessness, and the development of Foundry Surrey, a health and social services hub for young people. Today, PCRS remains committed to its mission of supporting vulnerable individuals and families, creating opportunities for success, and fostering strong community connections.
