Chilliwack Job Options is an employment program, offered by Pacific Community Resources Society at no cost, for unemployed residents of the Fraser Valley Regional District, age 18 – 71, who are not in receipt of EI and are committed to gaining sustainable employment on a full or part-time basis.  Participants must not be attending school.

The program is divided into two components.

The first component, (8 weeks), delivers life, employability and job maintenance skills through staff lead group workshops, 1-1 sessions, and individual assignments, in order to assist participants in overcoming barriers to suitable and lasting employment.

Participants will also be supported in finding and gaining sustainable employment during this period.

Job or industry-specific short-term certifications may also be gained, as required, to assist participants who are successfully moving through the workshop component, to increase their chances of successful job search.

The second component consists of 12 weeks of support and assistance as required, once a participant begins working.  We are here to assist with any concerns or issues that could affect the participant’s continued job success.  Support could be anything from 1-1 workshops on required soft skills, to assisting effective communication between participant and employer.

Funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.

Serving the Residents of the Fraser Valley, from Mission to Hope. For more information, or to arrange an interview, please email at joboptions@pcrs.ca.
