BYRC Youth Volunteer Program

Volunteer opportunities for young people at the Broadway Youth Resource Centre (BYRC) and in the community.

  • Youth
  • Youth 13 - 24

Available in Vancouver

The BYRC Youth Volunteer Program offers ongoing opportunities for youth to help at BYRC and in the community. We work with youth to make sure that skills are matched to the time spent volunteering with us.

Program Features

Ongoing volunteer opportunities in the BYRC space include

  • Gardening
  • Social media
  • Kitchen
  • Youth Action Committee
  • Special events

The youth volunteer coordinator provides one-on-one support to youth to achieve success in their placements and connect them to resources and community opportunities.

Youth have access to training workshops, leadership opportunities, social support programs, and pre-employment activities.

BYRC youth volunteers have a strong reputation in the community resulting in opportunities to participate in leadership roles in the community and empower youth to create their own projects that help to bring the community together.

The Youth Volunteer Program also hosts the BYRC Youth Advisory Committee which provides an opportunity for decision making within BYRC, training, peer-to-peer connection, and youth-adult mentorship. In the past, youth have participated in the Mayor’s Task for on Mental Health – Youth Gathering, Vancouver Foundation’s Fostering Change and out of Vancouver networking gatherings.
