Surrey Youth Resilience Program (SYRP) – Club Utopia
Surrey
Supports South Asian female youth and their female caregivers with education, support and counselling.
Youth and caregivers will be part of a six-month cohort. Youth are educated about the dangers of gang life and supported to make positive life choices that promote their wellbeing. Caregivers are supported from a culturally sensitive approach in child development, communication and successful parenting approaches.
During each six-month period, the youth and caregiver groups come together to celebrate their achievements.
One-on-one counselling is also available for youth and caregivers.
Club Utopia activities are expected to increase resiliency and confidence as well as strengthen family relationships.
