PCRS, Ashnola at the Crossing, requires a person on a 3 month Term (extensions as required) to fill in for a staff person who has been seconded into another position.
The administrative assistant works as part of a large multi-disciplinary team that provides treatment for substance use for youth (17-24) in a remote, residential setting. The team works within the strategic objectives of Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) to ensure the provision of effective and efficient services to our participants. The Administrative Assistant will provide support to management and program teams, and create a welcoming and professional space for visitors, contractors and participants, and general phone enquiries. The Administrative Assistant will be able to thrive in a demanding role. The schedule is typically Monday to Friday, but may require occasional evening and weekend work.
Academic and Job Experience Required:
Certification in Business Administration or high school diploma with one year administrative experience is required.
- Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector
- Standard first aid certificate and CPR
- High level of communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to operate related office equipment
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation training
- Demonstrated physical/mental ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Suitable to work with youth experiencing multiple barriers
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and navigating the Internet.
