On February 19th, 2016 the Health Promotion and Prevention Team hosted their annual Prevention Conference. It was a huge success with the highest number of attendees to date (72). Our keynote speaker was Kenneth Tupper from the Ministry of Health who spoke on Drug Prevention in the classroom. In the afternoon participants were able to choose from a variety of workshops focused on re-engaging youth including Grief, Trauma, Anxiety, Indigenous, LGBTQ+ and Experiential Learning. Door prizes were created by youth within the Prevention Program and were a huge hit. Feedback from the conference was overwhelmingly positive with registrants looking forward to next year.
