WorkBC Employment Services Centres

The WorkBC Employment Services Centres (ESCs) offer a full range of no-cost job search and career planning resources for unemployed or underemployed (working <20 hours/week) British Columbians.

PCRS works in partnership with seven WorkBC Employment Services Centres that contribute expertise to the full range of job search and career planning resources offered in those centres. In addition, PCRS could not provide this full range of services on behalf of job seekers without the valued contribution of our esteemed partners: Back in Motion Rehab Inc., GT Hiring Solutions, Open Door Group, and Sources Community Resources Society.

Program Features

At our primary employment services centres, Midtown and Fleetwood/Guildford,  and our other partner WorkBC sites, we aim to get job seekers connected to the labour market, ensure eligible clients receive appropriate employment services in alignment with current labour market information, and ensure that labour market services are in accordance with the needs and opportunities presented by local employers.

  • A staffed self-serve area and resource room including phones, computers, and printers for job search purposes
  • Case management services
  • Employment readiness group workshops

Specialized services are also available for persons with disabilities, youth, Aboriginals, immigrants, Francophones, and job seekers who may be facing multiple barriers to employment. Services are available in multiple languages, and we have access to interpreters.

Some of the services available to employers include:

  • Assistance in recruiting skilled employees
  • Pre-screening of applicants
  • Professionally arranged job placements
  • Post-placement support and follow-up
  • Direct support to employers and employees with ongoing training and workshops
  • Assistance in the event of an employment crisis
  • Wage subsidy support that helps employers with funding to provide on-the-job training

Program Details


All unemployed British Columbians over the age of 16 who are legally able to work in Canada and not attending regular full-time school.


Our main locations include our Midtown and Fleetwood/Guildford WorkBC Employment Services Centres. We also partner with Fraserside, AWARE Society, and MOSAIC to offer the Employment Program of British Columbia at the Fraser Works Co-ops. Additionally, we have staff members who work out of the following centres: GT Hiring Solutions (Burnaby & Chilliwack), Avia Employment Services (Richmond & Langley), and Sources ESC (Cloverdale & Surrey/White Rock).
