Outreach Substance Use Counselling for Youth
ASTRA supports youth aged 13-19 with substance use concerns, providing supportive and relational counselling services based on their needs, readiness, and commitment to change. The program meets youth on a one-to-one outreach basis in their communities. ASTRA counsellors follow a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective to help youth reach goals that promote wellness around problematic substance use.

Eligibility
Youth ages 13 to 19 (with the extension of support to 24 for those engaged previously) who wish to change their relationship with alcohol/drugs
Entrance Requirements
Youth, parents, caregivers, community support and service providers are able to complete an initial referral form to connect to the program

The service is free.
We support youth as long as they have a desire to work on substance use goals or are transitioned to adult substance use services.
Astra will come to youth in the community where they are at. We can meet you at school, pick you up from home, we can meet you in the community and we can drop you off after session. Astra is designed to met the needs of youth who are less inclined to meet in office settings.
